Easy Money with CPA Networks is Hard!

Posted on October 9, 2006 in Affiliate Information, Affiliate Tips

This weekend was a crazy one for me. I saw lots of posts and emails asking about why they keep reading about how easy it is to make money online but yet they are having a hard time doing it.

Why do people say Internet money is easy money?
Because those who have things working for them on the internet seem to have it easy as they have a well oiled machine basically printing money for them. Remember it could have taken months or even years to get where they are at and they may have a team of experts working for them. (Work Smarter not Harder)

How do I Earn Easy Money?
Well I don’t. I work hard everyday looking for new trends on the net, new products, new offers, analyzing existing sites and campaigns. I am constantly tweaking and changing things. People around me see that I can leave for weeks at a time and still pay the bills think I have it made.

What people don’t see:
* Times where I am up at 3:00am coding or working on a campaign/ website because I had a great idea or have an issue that needs resolved.
* When I am away form home and can’t find an internet connection I drive around the town in search of free wifi etc…
* The years of work I have put into this business and times I have failed that are long gone or could have been yesterday. (But I roll with the punches and keep trying)
* The times my wife yells at me for spending too much time on the PC.
* The thousands I have spent and lost money on doing trial and error and new design layouts.
* The Days where I am ready to quit as my listings get dropped from the search engines or my payout goes down do to smart pricing or my campaigns get rejected for no real reason. (But I roll with the punches and keep trying)

There is much more than these that people don’t see, but this gives you an idea. While there isn’t really easy money, once you learn that trial and error and never giving up is key then you are already ahead of the game.  So if you failed at a CPA campaign or your website is only making .05 a day instead of 5.00 don’t give up trying something else, look for advice there are many forums and blogs like this one that will give advice. Whatever you do don’t give up.

A side note: Throwing up any old ad with Iframed offer doesn’t always cut it. Do your research think outside of the box this will get you earning more. As anyone can put up a page iframed or with a banner be different and i bet you will make money!

i do always find that other marketers claim getting money is as easy as sleeping, but after a year of doing this and that, i know now that it’s not true. they say that cuz they just want ppl to surrender their email address and/or buy their product.

making money *is* easy, if you mean making a few cents. making money that will pay your bills is the one that is hard to get. thx for this post.

There is Easy Money online… but the way to get to it is in most cases really hard.

As cpa-affiliate said, you have to work hard to get to the point where things are automatic, and even if you reached that point you’ll have to fine tune all your stuff daily or at least weekly to stay there.

    It sounds so familiar:

    * The times my wife yells at me for spending too much time on the PC.
    * The thousands I have spent and lost money on doing trial and error and new design layouts.
    * etc

But i still fail with CPA. Could you point me to a few websites on the internet that do fine with these kind of affiliate networks?

Dude, you are right on with this. I spend a lot of time trying new markets, keyword research, testing different landing pages, etc. I think most people get into this stuff looking to hit a homerun with their first at bat. Probably ain’t gonna happen For me, I’ve failed more than I’ve succeeded, but the successes can pay off big time. I’ve had several campaigns that for some reason I could never get to work, while there are others that I haven’t really touched for six months and the money just keeps rolling in. The point is, you have to work and try new things and build up your empire. :o )

Oh, and if you find something that works, don’t Shoemoney it (blog about it and tell everyone how much you are making from it) ;) You’ll have a lot more competition and a lot less money.

p.s. You can always tell me though – I can keep a secret.

    rofl ;o)

But it’s true, i see it with campaigns i’ve started with, on some engines i succeed big time while with the same sites, keywords etc i fail on others, big time! You have to keep up try tweaking and tweaking and tweaking and at one point you have the right landingpage, campaigns and keywords and you’re earning. In most cases you can get any campaign to make profit for you, some are really hard and with some you hit the exact point with your first try. But it takes anyway a lot of time and work.

I’ve got a subscription based site being overhauled for 2007 to catch the new years resolution crowd, and since the team has taken over development, I’ve been learning about CPA+Adsense. The site as it is makes 40-80 a day with Adsense. I tried CPA ads in banner format, but got 0 results. My site could be too targeted, but you’re RIGHT – persistence and testing are key.
