Being local will only give us limitations. Diversifing is a rather good idea.

Andrew,

Don't limit yourself to local people, while it may be key at first to be in the same location it isn't completely neccessary. My partner lives 5hrs away and things couldn't be better. And our employees are all over the US and even in other countries. the key is getting in touch with people you trust and have great skills where you lack or compliment your skills. While being local is a plus it is not a requirement.

Do you have any advice about finding a partner? Most of the people I know in the business are through online and are scattered all over the US (and world). What would you recommend so that I can find a partner in my local vicinity?

Others tell you about the ups and downs, but it is hard to know until you experience it. It took me a couple of years to notice the patterns. I have quite got it down, but I'm getting there.
