AzoogleAds Reduces Referral Program

Posted on January 25, 2008 in Azoogleads, CPA Networks

I use Azoogleads and like them because they carry some good offer with good payouts, but today i got an email from them that dissappointed me.  First off several months ago AzoogleAds took away the Rewards program, I loved getting my Amazon Gift Certificates, Now they are limiting referral income to only 6 months!!!! Wow I have some referals earning me hundreds a month so this was bad news.. Read the Email for yourself:

Dear Publisher,
Thank you for participating in the AzoogleAds Publisher Referral Program, and for connecting us to your friends, family, and acquaintances.

Starting February 1, 2008, we are introducing some changes to our current Referral Program which may affect you:

• Referral commission will continue to be 2% of referred publishers’ revenue but will now expire after 6 months.
• Start date is the day first penny is earned, and expiration date is 6 months after first penny is earned.
• You must maintain a minimum revenue level of $1,000 in your primary account on a monthly basis in order to receive any referral payouts for that month.
• If you earn less than $1,000 in any given month, you will not qualify for a referral payment that month. However, you will be eligible for any month thereafter, up to the 6 month cutoff date.
• $1,000 threshold must be for revenues that you have earned from regular offer promotion, not referred sales.
• You may not refer another account belonging to you.
• When the 6 month expiration date has ended, you cannot refer the same publisher again.
• Referral payments will be on net 60 terms
• Referral payments will be paid out to parent accounts, not children accounts
These conditions will be listed under our FAQ section starting February 1st 2008.

Thanks again for your support and  keep spreading the good word about AzoogleAds!

As always, we’d love to hear any questions or comments that you have; please send us your thoughts at AZreferral@AzoogleAds.com.
Sincerely,
Mitchell Richler
Vice President of Network Distribution

Also i don’t know if there were many people out there doing this but literally promoting the network only for referral income. Well you can’t do that anymore unless you make 1,000 a month with them. To me this discourages you from refering people… but maybe they feel they get enough signups they don’t need it. While i won’t stop using them it does make there referral program less appealing.

What do you think?

Man that stinks! I will be pushing them less for referrals now that for sure.

I really am a fan of azoogle. However, when they dropped the rewards program, they didn’t really bump payments by anything terribly significant from what I saw. Making the referral program less appealing means they’ll have to do even more customer service to keep things going well.

I could very much see another affiliate company jumping in and taking Azoogle’s throne as the darling of the CPA industry. Rocket Profits, Neverblue, who knows who else, but I can see it happening if Azoogle is complacent.

Overall, I think it’s more of a problem that Azoogle is big enough now that they don’t see a need to reward people as much. I find this to be distressing because customer service is the only real competitive advantage that they ever seemed to have over other networks for me. If they lose that, then they are going to fall on their face.

Makes me like CX Digital a little more :)

    Seriously 6 months?

It takes some people longer than that just to learn how to market products online. I got the word and have suspended my referral relationship with them. I love them as a network, but this is disappointing.

I have over 50 referrals in my account so this really hits home. Not a good trend from azoogle. I understand cutting costs, but cutting back your referrals is kind of like shooting yourself in the foot.

I don’t get why no one of you guys says something about the LIFETIME issue… It’s not that Azoogle cuts down costs (fully understandable). They broke a promise, even more, they broke a contract =) They promised all affiliates signed up a LIFETIME commission, what is that worth when they can cut it off just like they wan’t to? Right, absolutely nothing! They just moved into their new fully styled office in NY, but they don’t have enough money to keep their guaranteed LIFETIME commission active?

Ew. I’ve been using Azoogle less and less — I may drop them all together now.

    Another good point,

Pretty funny, I just caught Copeac’s email about 2% for life HAHA

This is very disappointing. This will mean a loss of $10k+ a year for me. I have a bad taste in my mouth with Azoogle for the first time that I can remember.

I agree with marc. Thats not a referal program, u can’t make any money with that. period. $1000???? I have 30 referals in cpaempire, and u want to ask for $1000 at 2%, they gota freakn make like $50,000 for u to make a $1000 by that time ur referals are not goign to be active. Marc’s reply is best, they just lied to everyone and told everyone lifetime and now they change their promises, liars.

HA HA HA!! They should have better stopped the referral program. It would have been a lot more diplomatic, than this. They should have said that from this moment on they don’t want to continue that.

This is kind of vicious way of getting rid of people helping your network of publishers to grow.

THE REASON WHY THEY DID THIS:

THEY ARE CANADIANS! :) )))) muhahahhahaha

I will have an interesting follow up post on this tomorrow. Thanks for first releasing the email copy.

This is kinda the impression I have gotten from them all along. After hearing the interview with shoemoney this does not surprise me at all. It seems they only want the big dogs (traffic) on their network. Anything else can go somewhere else…
