Why are you working online? Doesn’t get much simplier than that.

Just curious as to why some of yall are doing work online?

Are you just trying to make an extra buck in your spare time?

Do you Hope to make a living working online full time?

You already make a living online but enjoy your day job to much to quit?

You are making a living online and plan to do so in the future?

You are making a living online but thinking of going back to your day job?

You are after a quick buck and heard you can do that online?

You are doing it just for fun and what little money you get is just a bonus?

I am curious as to why some of you guys and gals that read my blog as to why you do what you do online. I personnally do it as a full time job and love it as a full time job. I plan to NEVER go back to a  9 to 5 B&M (Brick & Mortar) type job ( I was an Electrical Engineer). There is too much freedom with working online and for yourself. I can work anywhere there is internet, could be my home, Starbucks, my relatives in another state etc.. Plus there is Money to be made and not just money but if you do it right you can make a LOT of money online. This can be done part-time or full-time. I also enjoy the freedom of knowing if i need run errands with my wife, I can.  I don’t have to ask anyone if i want to go on vacation or call in if i am sick. I guess 2nd to the money is the freedom for me.

So why do you work online? Leave a comment and tell us why.

Myspace suing CPA Empire and others…

Of course the biggest thing happening at affiliate summit is the announcement that Myspace is suing CPA Empire. Article about it on CNN. Snippet from article below.

NEW YORK (Reuters) — News Corp.’s MySpace said Monday it has sued an e-mail marketing executive for an unspecified amount of damages, saying he and his company were behind millions of junk e-mail, or spam, messages sent to its customers’ accounts.

MySpace, the largest Internet social network with more than 150 million user profiles, filed the lawsuit against Scott Richter in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles last Friday.

But that’s not the biggest news, the rumors are circulating that many other CPA Networks (maybe even affiliates) may be getting a knock on thier door. With a letter from Myspace.  Again this is just rumors but i am sure more will come to light over the next few weeks. Shoemoney made a post about it also. Read it Here.

Affiliate Summit

For those of yall here at Affiliate Summit West it was great to meet you, you know who you are. For those of you that didn’t make it you are missing an AWESOME opportunity to Network with other Affiliates and Networks. As i stated in my agenda post I was planning to network, network, network and thats what i have done. I attended two sessions so far besides the openning stuff.  Went to the session Marketing Your Affiliate Site - Outside of the Box It was so great I got up and left after about 15 minutes into it. I was hoping it was going to talk about new methods etc.. but instead started talking about making your website user friendly but also going back to old way of selling with flyers, sponsoring events, newspaper advertising. Yes these are all good means and possible ways to get traffic, it was just stuff I already knew and was hoping for more.  The second session Ask the Experts: Super Affiliates was entertaining to watch, Jon F., Jeremy Schoemaker, and Andrew Johnson were doing a Q & A. In my opinion Andrew Johnson was not the greatest speaker to be joined with Jeremy and Jon. He may know his stuff and maybe he is better one on one but from what he was saying in Q & A, just didn’t seem like he was in the ranks. Maybe he just doesn’t do well with public speaking. But in general the session was good, but no real nuggets came out of the session. Just answers you would get from reading Jon or Jeremy’s blog.  I only have one session on the agenda for tomorrow but i may be skipping it to do more networking, as so far, the sessions were more of a buzz kill. I will post more about the different networks and networking i did later but wanted to give yall a quick update.

Pay Per Click Networks Tested

I get asked all the time how I would rank different pay per click networks on how they perform. So I decided to run a test with me and some friends that are part of various pay per click networks. They were all tested with the same ad copy, keywords, pricing (.15 per click) and landing page. (Remember this was a test case and results with vary depending on the offer.)

Scoring for search engine networks are as follows:

• Traffic Volume (Most volume = 10 out of 10)
• Conversion Rate (Best conversion rate = 10 out of 10)
• Click Pricing (Lowest pricing = 10 out of possible 10)

For a Total Score of 30.

Many will ask, why didn’t I rate the interface? The main reason being if it converts well and the price is right we can live with a horrible interface, well maybe not horrible but you get my point (It’s about the $$$$).

Search Engine Score Chart

Traffic Is King and as you can see Google is still #1 when it comes to traffic! But if you can’t afford the traffic it does no good which is why it isn’t #1.

Conversions are key to an Affiliate which is why every affiliate should give MSN a try as it converts better than the rest.

I think the numbers speak for themselves, in general use the ones near the top and stay away from ones near the bottom, EXCEPT 7search and enhance because with the right offer I have had these SE networks convert extremely well.

This also proves a point that every offer is different and you should aways test on your own.

Also check out a Directory Vault Blog post about a .12 PPC campaign they ran across different PPC networks. (Had similar results)
