Google Christmas Gift Arrives - It’s a Digital Photo Frame
Posted on December 4, 2006 in Affiliate Information p>
I was getting ready to head out of my house for some christmas shopping on saturday December 2 and the UPS man drops off a package. To my surprise it was from Google. Of course I can’t wait to open it so I rush inside to open the package to see what goodie they sent me. It is a digital picture frame from Google! Below is some information about the digital picture frame and some pictures.
3.6 inch TFT digital photo frame
960 x 240 TFT screen, 16 mega-color
Picture: JPG format
Audio: MP3, WMA, WAV and records WAV itself
Video: ASF only
Media: Internal memory and SD card, comes with sample slideshow in memory
Power: 4 AA batteries, AC/DC power adapter even has foreign plug adapter.

I did have some issues transfering files to the internal memory but once I put in a SD card and trasnfered files to the card, the picture frame worked like a charm.
Thanks Google.

Why is Google sending you a free gift? Do you earn a lot from Adsense, and that’s why they’re sending you a free gift? Or is it because you spend a lot with Adwords?
It came from Google adwords as i use adwords for advertising my sites. I have no idea as to what you have to spend with them to receive the gift but it looks like i spent enough.
Anyone else have a problem displaying JPEG’s created from Photoshop or Picasa?
I can transfer an image from my Canon XT (8mp), but I can’t seem to resize in Photoshop, save and then transfer. I just get “FILE ERROR”. I’ve tried all sorts of different JPEG formats!
I did find some software called TVwriter that would fix this problem… but its over US$50!
I had any issue with photos to the internal memory. I have same camera (great on BTW). I need to use the software that came with the frame to recode it, but before that i had to resize it to a smaller image like 800×600 recode with software then upload it. but even then sometimes i had issues.(MAKE SURE after you upload pic you turn it off then back on) The easy fix was putting an SD card in and trasnfering to it. Has worked like a charm with files on the SD card.
At my “real job” some of the people are taking up a collection to buy one of these for one of the managers. The one they want is $150. I’d say you got a nice gift!
I spent quite a bit this year in adwords, but I didn’t make the cut I guess.
AH, from adwords, than i’ll have a chance of getting something too
Ok, thanks.
I got a Google photo frame, and am having similar issues with the photo compatability. I’m assuming I need to go get my own card locally, correct? Or did any of you get an external card with the frame?

I got my gift for taking part in the google books program. I work for a publishing firm in Buenos Aires.
I got some “file error” messages. Tried downsizing the images with photoshop. But the error continued. Then I found out surfing the net that I should open the images in MS Paintbrush, and re save them. It have no idea why, but it worked perfectly!
It showed a couple errors when I disconnected the usb cable, but it went away after turning it off and on.
Well. strange but cool gift.
